Recognised as the 'Best Media Centre' in the region by Forbes Middle East (2019), Middlesex University Dubai's School of Media directly responds to the ever-changing ways in which we communicate. This vibrant program is taught by expert faculty with an array of industry experience, bring a diverse range of skillsets and knowledge to the classroom. This program has been designed in consultation with industry to provide students with a curriculum which meets the practical, technical and theoretical demands of a career in the fast-paced creative industries.
Stephen is an experienced practitioner and lecturer with over 15 yearsl experience working for global PR firms managing campaigns across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2020 he received the Middlesex One Award for Outstanding Contributions to Putting Students First, and an Innovation Award for his work with the Middlesex Careers and Employability Services team. He has also been recognised by the communications industry in being named one of Provoke Media's most innovative communicators in EMEA for 2020-21, and for successfully leading the accreditation process for Middlesex's Advertising, PR and Branding programme to IAA (International Advertising Association standards.
He is a Fellow of Advance HE in the I-JK, and holds a master's degree in Global Governance and Sustainable Development from Middlesex University and a bachelor's degree in Advertising and Marketing from Lancaster presently completing a second masters in higher education with Middlesex University. Most recently he was invited to support the youth leadership organization, AIESEC, as a member of its oversight board. In addition to this he is also a Teach SDGs ambassador and a Climate Reality Voluntary Leader.
Stephen teaches within our journalism, advertising and PR, and digital media programmes, and is a Member of the Middlesex University Institute of Sustainable Development. His research interests include sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, digital and video communications, social justice and public diplomacy. He is multilingual and speaks French and German. In his spare time he plays the saxophone to relax and reiuvenate himself.
