UniHawk Institute Updates Its SAT Preparation with the Digitization of the Exam

Admissions experts say that digitization will create opportunities to improve the exam preparation process.

January 2023, Dubai, United Arab Emirates: As preparations are underway for the digitization of the international SAT exam, study-abroad admissions experts at UniHawk Institute say that the new exam format will offer students new opportunities to improve their scores through personalized preparation. The American College Board has described the new digital SAT format as shorter and more user-friendly. This format can also help identify areas where students need additional guidance through practice tests. UniHawk counselors say this will enable a stronger focus on individual student needs during exam preparation.

UniHawk Institute has already begun preparing students for the new exam format, following the decision to conduct the first digital SAT on March 11. This move toward digitizing the exam is expected to bring several changes aimed at improving the student experience, including shorter reading passages and a reduced overall test duration. Candidates will also be able to use the calculator embedded within the testing application for all questions in the quantitative reasoning section, and results are expected to be released more quickly than with the paper-based exam.

Varun Jain, Founder and CEO of UniHawk Institute, explained:
“With regard to preparation, the digital format allows us to adopt a more in-depth and personalized approach. When students complete practice tests, we can see how much time they spend on each section and identify the areas they find most challenging. This helps us determine what to focus on during preparation and improve students’ test-taking techniques overall. We can also make the most effective use of preparation time to help each student achieve their full potential through our initial diagnostic test, needs analysis, action planning, and the development of curricula and digital resources.”

The new exam aims to reduce stress in the testing environment, as students can easily see how much remains to be completed and the time available. The test has now become computer-adaptive, meaning that the difficulty level of subsequent questions is determined by the candidate’s performance in the earlier stages of the exam. Varun added:
“Our trainers regularly take the tests alongside our students to experience the same pressure they face during the exam. The digital exam will make this process even more constructive, as it allows us to better understand specific timing-related challenges and develop tailored solutions for them.”

After helping more than 12,000 students gain admission to higher education institutions around the world, the UniHawk team follows a holistic approach to preparing candidates for acceptance. Varun noted that exam preparation is just one aspect of building a strong university application. Students are also advised to work on developing their academic profiles and extracurricular portfolios, practicing interview techniques, writing personal statements, and securing letters of recommendation.

Varun concluded:
“It is best for students to begin practicing for standardized tests around three months before they plan to take the exam. With the adoption of the new SAT format, there will be additional elements for students to familiarize themselves with, and early preparation will be beneficial in achieving a satisfactory result.”
