Where Ideas Turn Into Winning Stories
SABKHA: From the UAE, For the World
We’re commerce students, we know our way around balance sheets and marketing frameworks. But this was different. This was coming up with a name, a story, an ingredient, a reason for a brand to exist, and then actually making people believe in it. That part we didn’t learn in a classroom.
SABKHA started with something that bothered us: every luxury skincare brand in the world was made for someone else’s skin, in someone else’s climate. Nobody had ever looked at the UAE and thought, there’s something here. We did. And then we spent weeks turning that thought into something we could stand behind.
We learned more doing this than we expected. And we had the best time doing it.
To UniHawk Global and Rennes School of Business, thank you for creating a space where ideas like this get to exist. This competition gave us permission to dream a little bigger than the syllabus, and we’ll carry that with us long after the grades are in.
Best decision we made was asking a question nobody else thought to ask.
